This week&#8217;s Sunday Rewind takes us back a few years to an article from Juan Jose Ramirez that unpicks our approach to product design and suggests a design methodology that product managers may find useful to add to their workflow.
The author says that most product professionals start with a high-end design for their product and jump directly into wireframing. Then they run those wireframes past potential users and then iterate based on the feedback they get from them.

He says: “The problem with this approach is that they’re not showing the users the intrinsic solution. They’re just assuming that their implementation is the correct solution and they’re missing a world of user feedback by doing this.”
Juan Jose Ramirez’ methodology has five stages &#8211; understand, observe, visualise and predict, evaluate and refine, and define.
He says: “After completing the five-stage process you will have a document that is an invaluable prototyping asset.”
